Prolotherapy
This treatment tightens ligaments so that joints and muscles are restored to normal stability and range of motion. Due to trauma and biochemical factors, the ligaments can become detached or stretched causing pain in distal areas. The therapy involves injections of dextrose and procaine solution into affected areas. Treatments are done every 4-6 weeks and usually 6 or more treatments are required. Any joint that is frequently dislocated or needs stabilization is a prime candidate for prolotherapy.
