Dr. Ara Elmajian

Dr. Elmajian Dr. Ara Elmajian has worked as a dental practitioner in Vancouver, British Columbia since receiving his B.Sc. and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Alberta in 1975. Since graduation he has studied and worked extensively in the fields of temporomandibular joint dysfunction, head, neck and face pain and chronic illness. He has also done post graduate work in the fields of orthodontics and prosthodontics.

His practice consists of biological dentistry as well as the management of chronic pain and illness. Dr. Elmajian has received his Certification as a Biological Dentist in October 2010.

Services provided by Dr. Elmajian himself include biocompatible dentistry, temporomandibular joint therapy involving orthodontics/orthopedics, splint therapy, myofascial trigger point therapy and full mouth reconstructive prosthetic dentistry. He also uses a multidisciplinary approach to treating the many aspects of chronic pain and illness by utilizing extensive diagnostics which involve scientific medical testing and darkfield microscopy as well as various techniques to regulate the autonomic nervous system. This involves treatments such as myofascial therapy, neural therapy, craniosacral therapy and ozone therapy. Dr. Elmajian has also studied extensively and adopted the powerful field of homotoxicology into many of his treatment techniques utilizing homeopathic remedies to further support a person’s own healing abilities. He has been an advocate for detoxification for many years and recommends and guides his patients through proper protocols suited to their needs.

Dr. Elmajian has also been involved in research in the fields of orthodontics, myofascial therapy and neural therapy.

Dr. Elmajian was one of the first in the field of myofascial therapy and neural therapy to utilize a combination of homeopathic remedies along with local anesthetic for the various types of injections used in these procedures. He also discovered the revolutionary technique of intraoesseous neural therapy (I.O.N.T. ), a valuable tool in diagnosing jaw cavitations as well as having numerous treatment applications.

He works closely with his team of biological dentists, medical and naturopathic physicians and his traditional Chinese medical practitioner to provide his clients with a complete and supportive approach to their health care concerns as well as their dental needs.

Dr. Elmajian has lectured and written articles to present at Biological Dental and Medical Conferences and Naturopathic Conventions in Europe, Canada and the US. He has also published three articles in Explore Magazine.
